The intense pulsed light reduces redness and pigmentation by targeting blood vessels and breaking down melanin, resulting in a more even and youthful complexion.

At Oatlands Aesthetics, we are committed to offering advanced skincare options that target specific skin concerns with precision and minimal downtime. Limelight IPL offers a non-invasive solution for skin rejuvenation by improving tone, texture and clarity.

How does Limelight IPL work?

This powerful treatment harnesses the power of IPL therapy to rejuvenate the skin by addressing a wide range of skin concerns. It works by delivering precise wavelengths of light energy to the skin, targeting pigment and blood vessels resulting in a reduction in redness, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, fine lines, wrinkles and acne.

For exceptional skin rejuvenation results, Limelight IPL can be performed in combination with Laser Genesis, this is better known as the 2D Facial. The 2D Laser Facial is widely considered our ultimate Skin Rejuvenation treatment.

IPL - Limelight FAQs

1. What are the key benefits of Limelight?

  • Targets and diminishes the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and visible pores.
  • Fades dark spots and hyperpigmentation for a clearer skin tone.
  • Reduces redness, and rosacea, providing a more uniform complexion.
  • Quick and effective treatment with results visible within weeks.

2. Am I suitable for Limelight IPL?

Limelight IPL is designed to improve skin imperfections such as brown sun spots, redness and fine lines on the face, neck, chest and hands.

Limelight IPL is most effective for those with fair to medium skin tones who have not tanned or experienced sunburn for at least four weeks before treatment. Those with darker or deeply tanned skin are not suitable candidates, as the higher levels of pigment in their skin can absorb excessive light energy, potentially leading to skin damage. A consultation is essential to determine if Limelight IPL is appropriate for your skin type and concerns. We offer a variety of treatments to target your concerns. Alternative therapies are available if you are unsuitable for this treatment.

3. Do I need to do anything before my Limelight treatment?

To ensure optimal results and safety, please follow these guidelines:

  1. Avoid sun exposure for two weeks before treatment to minimise the risk of skin damage.
  2. Inform our practitioners about any medications you are taking to manage potential skin sensitivity during the procedure.
  3. Stop using retinoids and exfoliants a week before treatment to reduce the risk of complications.
  4. Shave the treatment area if it has hair – this allows better absorption of light energy and prevents skin damage.
  5. Follow the pre-treatment instructions we email you to ensure a safe and effective treatment.

4. Can Limelight IPL treat rosacea?

Yes.

IPL is a safe and effective treatment to reduce redness and flushing commonly associated with rosacea. The IPL energy targets the blood vessels that cause the redness, breaking them down and improving overall skin tone.

5. Is Limelight IPL the same as laser?

Both intense pulsed light and lasers are light-based treatments, but they have unique features.

Lasers emit a single wavelength of light, enabling precise targeting of specific skin concerns. In contrast, IPL uses a broad spectrum of light, making it ideal for addressing multiple concerns at once. The choice between IPL and lasers depends on your skin’s needs and the guidance of a qualified professional.

6. How soon will I see results after Limelight?

You should start seeing improvement after the first session.

7. Can I have other treatments alongside Limelight?

Yes.

We will often recommend a combination treatment approach to address all your skin and ageing concerns over an appropriate period of time.
