Other common vascular lesions are Venous lakes and Cherry angiomas. A venous lake is a dilated blood vessel that appears dark blue or purple, often with a dome-shaped appearance. They are usually found on the lips. Cherry angiomas are small, bright red, circular lesions similar to a freckle or mole in size that often appear on the trunk and limbs. They are typically harmless, but you may want to treat them to soften their appearance and reveal clearer, more even skin.
Damage or pressure on capillaries and finer veins can lead to the occurrence of thread veins. These can also be triggered by genetics, sun damage, hormones, changes in temperature, obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, smoking and drinking alcohol.
Reducing these triggers can help treat thread veins and should always be your first goal. If you’re still struggling to see a difference, then we may be able to help at Oatlands Aesthetics.
It is important to note that excess thread veins on the legs may reflect an underlying condition such as varicose veins. At Oatlands Aesthetics, we always provide a thorough analysis and medical background to discuss any pre-existing causes of these conditions. In some cases, we may recommend seeking advice from a Consultant before embarking on any treatment.
